11 October 2017 – Ninewa Plains – Boys play in the courtyard of the Al-Taghllubia School for Boys in the Ninewa Plains.
UNDP’s Funding Facility for Stabilization is helping rehabilitate the school, which suffered damage during ISIL occupation and the battle to retake the town. After being closed for 3 years it reopened its doors to students today. Miss Fatim, a parent of one of the school’s pupils is happy to see her son return to the school. “It’s very nice to come back to your original place,” she said. “We appreciate this so much. It’s a very nice feeling to see you are here and are helping us, and that students can come back here to study.”
